Ada F. Addington Inpatient Hospice Unit

Located within Rush University Medical Center, the Ada F. Addington Inpatient Hospice Unit is the first inpatient hospice unit in a major Illinois medical center.  Bulley & Andrews served as General Contractor to renovate 6,600 sq. ft. of space into the new hospice center.

The new space includes private patient rooms with bath and fold-out beds for family members as well as a family lounge with kitchenette, television and children’s playspace.  The unit’s central gathering area includes a fireplace, aquarium and comfortable seating. 

The renovation, which included window replacements and architectural finishes to the space, began in the fall of 2011 and was completed February 2012.
